Frequently asked Questions?

1)    Can I host a party at Knowlwood?

Members are allowed to host parties at Knowlwood for up to 25 people.

If hosting parties of 10 or more please contact Kathy Abby. Parties with more than 8 children need to provide a certified lifeguard. Guests need to be registered at the pool kiosk.

2)    Can non-members play tennis or pickleball at Knowlwood? Or use the pool?

Non-members may play tennis, pickleball or use the pool when accompanied by a member.  Guests are asked to wait for their host before taking a court or entering the pool area and to leave the club when their host leaves.  Pool/BBQ guests must be registered at the pool gate.

3)    Can non-members take private lessons or participate in clinics at Knowlwood?

Non-members are welcome to take lessons and participate in clinics at Knowlwood. 

4)    Are dogs allowed at Knowlwood?

Only certified service animals are allowed at Knowlwood.

5)    Are children allowed to use the pool without an adult?

Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult other than the lifeguard.  Children 8-13 are allowed to use the pool without an adult if a lifeguard is on duty and they have been judged water safe by the lifeguard. Children over 14 may use the pool without an adult or lifeguard in attendance if they are water safe.

6)    Can I reserve a court at Knowlwood?

With the exception of courts 1 and 2 and courts being used by Board approved clinics or special events all courts are available on a 1st, 1st served basis. Court 6 is reserved for the teaching pros weekends 2:30-dusk.

7)    What do I do if all the courts are in use when I arrive at the club for a match?

If all the courts are busy, please ask one of the pros for assistance. Member play has priority on the courts except as noted above. If all courts are busy members may ask a pro to consolidate a clinic if it has expanded to more courts than the board has approved or to ask a pro who is teaching a private lesson on courts 3-10 to surrender the court for member use.

If all courts are being used for member play, play is limited to 30 min for hitting, 60 min for singles, and 90 min for doubles.

8)    Can I play pickleball anytime the club is open?

Pickleball is limited to court 6, 9 am- noon daily and court 1, weekends 2:30-dusk.

9)    Does pickleball have priority on the “pickleball court”?

No, all courts are available on a 1st come, 1st served basis. If tennis players are using the pickleball court and there is an open hard court pickle ball players may ask the tennis players to move.
